LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a manufacturing company in Sugar Land, Tx to hire a Cost Accountant. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling the production costs within the manufacturing facility in Sugar Land. Your primary objective will be to ensure accurate costing, maintain cost control procedures, and provide financial insights to support decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to achieve these goals. Key Responsibilities: Cost Analysis:
  • Analyze and report on the manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
  • Identify cost variances and investigate the reasons behind them.
  • Develop cost models to accurately assess product costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and valuations.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor and control inventory turnover rates to optimize working capital.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts related to manufacturing costs.
  • Provide cost-related input to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Process Improvement:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing costs.
  • Provide variance analysis and insights to management.
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Support audits and reviews by providing relevant documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $64,999.00 PER YEAR
