San Francisco- Document Management: Assist in drafting, proofreading, formatting, and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with State and Federal courts, ensuring compliance with deadlines and local rules.
- Calendar Management: Maintain attorney calendars, schedule appointments, court appearances, and meetings, and provide timely reminders. Manage calendars through Microsoft Outlook.
- Client Communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys and clients, handling inquiries, and ensuring excellent client service.
- File Maintenance: Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are accurately labeled, indexed, and readily accessible.
- Billing Assistance: Prepare and process client invoices, track billable hours, and assist with expense reports.
- Administrative Support: Assist attorneys with administrative tasks, such as travel arrangements, expense reports, and general office duties.
- Trial Support: Assist attorneys in preparing trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal secretary in civil litigation
- Proficient in using legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain detailed and accurate records in a fast-paced legal environment
- Strong attention to detail in preparing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
- Experience with e-filing in State and Federal courts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and external parties
- High school diploma or its equivalent required. Completion of a legal secretary or paralegal program is a plus.
- Salary $85,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
