Job Description:
We're seeking a dedicated Benefits Specialist to join our team in Portland, OR, on a temporary basis with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. As a Benefits Specialist, you will be a key player in ensuring our employees have a clear understanding of their benefits options and supporting the administration of our benefits programs.
Responsibilities:
Benefits Support: Serve as the go-to resource for employees' benefits-related inquiries, providing guidance on available options, eligibility, and coverage details.
Enrollment Management: Assist in the accurate enrollment, changes, and terminations of employee benefits, maintaining up-to-date records.
Compliance: Stay informed about relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits to ensure compliance.
Open Enrollment: Support the annual open enrollment process by preparing communication materials and assisting employees with their selections.
Data Analysis: Compile and analyze data on benefits participation, costs, and usage to provide insights for informed decision-making.
Issue Resolution: Collaborate with insurance providers and vendors to address and resolve benefits-related issues promptly.
Communication: Develop and distribute benefits-related communications to ensure employees are well-informed about their benefits packages.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate benefits records within our HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and security.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with HR team members to ensure seamless HR operations and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a Benefits Specialist or in a similar role, with familiarity in employee benefits programs.
- Understanding of federal and state regulations such as ERISA and ACA.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Detail-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees and external partners.

Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
