Special Counsel is looking to hire a temp to perm regulatory compliance contracts attorney.


Details and Requirements:

  • Expected Start: on a rolling basis
  • Hour Requirement: 40 hours min. a week
  • Pay Rate: $40 an hour dependent upon specific project
  • Location: Remote
  • Temp duration: 3-6 months

  • Experience/Education:

  • Must have an active Bar license
  • Seeking at least 4 years of Contract review/negotiation experience in regulatory compliance contracts

  • Description

    The Attorney will be responsible for quality control and assurance on completed MSA and other contract amendments, drafting amendments, verifying each amendment addresses each of the gaps identified in each and that any remaining gaps are risk accepted. Track risk acceptances prior to execution of contract. Approve finalized amendment for execution. Draft and negotiate amendments. Experience with and confidence to negotiate contracts is a must.


    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with the bank legal department to finalize drafts for vendor review and finalization
  • Request amendments from Outside Counsel to review
  • Follow up and receive amendments from Outside counsel, review, edit, draft or change as necessary to mitigate risk.
  • Run interference with Outside Counsel
  • QC amendments
  • Receive and store vendor redline or requests for meetings
  • Follow up with engagement manager whose vendors have not sent redline or requested a meeting as informed by engagement manager
  • Monitor status of negotiations
  • Provide Quality Assurance on post-negotiation checklist
  • Provide Quality Assurance on negotiated amendment

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to collaborate, meet deadlines, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves and do processing work along with legal work
  • Ability to be cross functional and to jump into any part of the work flow as needed.
  • Excellent written, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Skilled in demonstrating strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
  • Skilled in Customer Relations in a manner consistent with professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, etc.
