Morris CountyLHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced and skilled Buyer. The Buyer will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring high-quality goods and services for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful vendor management and cost optimization.
Responsibilities:
Source and select suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and anticipate the organization's procurement needs.
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and trends in the industry.
Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or delivery.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to order placement and receipt of goods.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues such as delivery delays, quality discrepancies, or supply shortages.
Evaluate and assess supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics.
Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and technological advancements related to procurement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations in all procurement activities.
Work closely with the logistics and inventory teams to manage inventory levels and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the procurement process and contribute to overall organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
2+ years of experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Agent, or in a similar procurement role.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
Excellent analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities, market trends, and pricing strategies.
Proficient in using procurement software and tools to manage purchasing activities (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement platforms).
Solid understanding of supply chain management concepts and best practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) is a plus.
