IrvineLitigation and Trial Secretary - Irvine, California LHH is seeking a skilled and organized Litigation Secretary to join a civil litigation team at a full-service law firm in Irvine, CA. As a Litigation Secretary, you will play a crucial role in supporting five attorneys and contributing to the efficient management of major civil litigation cases. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong administrative skills and a passion for the legal field to thrive in a dynamic and rewarding environment. Location: Irvine, California Type: Permanent Hire Position: Litigation Secretary Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with accuracy and adherence to court rules
- File legal documents with State, Federal, and Appellate courts, electronically or in person, and handle service of process as required
- Assist in managing civil litigation cases, including maintaining case files, organizing documents, and tracking deadlines
- Manage attorney and master calendars; schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions; and send reminders to ensure timely compliance with deadlines
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and ensuring all necessary trial documents are ready
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including answering calls, maintaining contacts, arranging travel, processing expense reports, and processing client billing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal secretary in civil litigation or a related field
- Proficient in using legal software, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), and document management systems
- iManage experience preferred
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain detailed and accurate records in a fast-paced legal environment
- Strong attention to detail in preparing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
- Experience with e-filing in State, Federal, and Appellate courts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and external parties
- High school diploma or its equivalent required. Completion of a legal secretary or paralegal program is a plus.
- Salary $90,000 to $95,000, depending on experience.
- Benefit offerings may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
- Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
- Hybrid work schedule with three days in office and two days working from home; schedule subject to change.
