Patient Registration Specialist


Accounting Principals is currently seeking a Patient Registration Specialist for a full- time position located Indianapolis, IN. This is a great contract-to-hire role that offers the opportunity to work with a results-oriented and dedicated team.


A patient registration Specialist is generally the first person a patient sees as they enter a doctor’s office or hospital department. Patient registration specialists are charged with welcoming new patients, registering incoming patients and walking them through all the various forms they must sign. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of patient facing services within Revenue Cycle Services
  • Facilitates patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Interviews patient/patient representative to confirm demographic, financial and clinical information
  • Performs insurance eligibility verification for specific services
  • Maintains customer focus during phone conversations
  • Greets patients and business partners with professionalism and courteousness
  • Facilitates copay collection conversations with patients
  • Ensures complete and accurate demographic collection in a timely manner
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, peers and superiors daily
  • Must have ability to think quickly and react professionally

  • Qualifications

  • Experience in a clerical position preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans is beneficial.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Compassionate and patient.
  • Professional demeanor.

  • Skills

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Interact with hospital administrations to perform effective patient operations.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with patients and hospital staffs.
  • Respond to patient concerns and inquiries professionally.
  • Strong customer service skills for dealing with patients.

  • Employment type: On-site, Full-time, Contract.


    Compensation: The pay rate is $16.00 per hour.


    Work hours: The hours would be Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m.- 6:00p.m.
