Job Purpose:


A Manufacturing plant in Bergen County, NJ seeks a Production Supervisor to coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products, oversee daily production and flow of materials and shipping and receiving. Reports into the Plant Operations Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, insures the safety, security and welfare of all employees and all proper PPE is being worn by staff.
  • Responsible for executing manufacturing processes with strict compliance to GMPs and SHE regulations and perform risk assessment for process and machinery. Coordinates the material movement and handling of material transfers from and to the plat.
  • Reviews product specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Insures that operators follow specific controlled specifications and procedures in the process of fabricating products and implements corrective measures to keep production on schedule.
  • Manage process improvements by maintaining MDI program in order to support main site KPI’s( safety, quality, delivery, inventory , productivity and performance)
  • Fully involve in 5S activities to make sure work areas, machine, tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
  • Support manufacturing personnel in identifying root cause and developing corrective/preventative actions associated with both customer and internal complaints.
  • Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials and orders all necessary supplies, equipment and tools for departments assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with department managers, other shift supervisors and machine operators to identify and de-bottleneck production constraints with process changes

    • Requirements:

  • 5+ years within a production capacity and 2-5 years supervisory experience in a Manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor’s degree (Industrial, mechanical degree) in Engineering is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing methodologies, training and/or implementation experience a Plus
  • Proven ability to train floor shop staff and ability to make decisions in a complex and dynamic environment. Expertise in web handling and converting process.
  • Technical skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Project, AutoCAD), ISO 9000 and SAP
  • Bilingual Spanish
