DublinLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading, non-profit organization to hire a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity based in Dublin, California. In this role you will deliver crucial services in supporting the organization’s overall financial operations. You will take ownership of various accounting tasks, ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
Prepare and process invoices, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Support the preparation of financial statements and reports, providing analysis and insights as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and potential areas for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
Assist in special projects and process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the finance department.
Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of internal controls and financial procedures.
DESIRED BACKGROUND & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus.
Proven experience, at least 2-3 years in a similar role or at least 3-5 years of a progressive increase in professional responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting processes.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
