Essential Functions:
· Maintain balance sheet schedules and approve monthly bank reconciliations
· Preparation and entry of monthly journal entries for close out purposes
· Posting of all cash entries
· Review profit and loss statements at month end to validate all items are coded correctly
· Maintain and coordinate accounting control procedures
· Responsible for communicating with the property managers to relay any necessary financial information
· Complete various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis
· Review of Operations month end close
· Assist with review and/or formation of accounting processes and procedures
· Assist with accounting staff training
· Oversee the financial reporting and analysis of assigned markets, including scheduling meetings with the Portfolio Manager to review monthly results
· Work directly with Property Accounting Manager to ensure all deadlines are met
· Assist with the onboarding of any new or transferred assets
· Review capitalization of construction renovations/rehabs as well as turn cost
· Properly record insurance claim loss expenses and insurance proceeds
· Troubleshoot/Investigate any unexplained expenditures
· Review and approve weekly/bi-weekly check runs
· Ad Hoc reports as requested by Management and Owners
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Experience with Yardi Voyager
· Great Analytical Skills
· Ability to see the big picture
· Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Highly organized
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Equivalent Experience (5-7 Years)
