Eminent Domain Litigation Secretary



LHH has partnered with a large reputable law firm in Costa Mesa in seeking an experienced and skilled Eminent Domain Litigation Secretary to provide exceptional administrative support to three associates and an eminent domain paralegal. The ideal candidate will possess current eminent domain experience, proficiency in state and federal filings, and additional litigation secretary skills.



Responsibilities:



  • Eminent Domain Support: Utilize your expertise in eminent domain litigation, both plaintiff and defense, to assist attorneys and the paralegal in preparing legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.


  • State and Federal Filings: File legal documents accurately and timely with various state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements.


  • Document Drafting: Prepare and format Table of Authorities (TOA) and Table of Contents (TOC) for legal documents to enhance readability and accessibility.


  • Shell Preparation: Assist in creating document templates and shells for various legal pleadings and correspondence, maintaining consistency and efficiency.


  • Calendar Management: Skillfully manage attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, hearings, meetings, and court appearances to optimize time management.


  • Calendaring Software: Utilize calendaring software proficiently to enter, update, and track important deadlines, ensuring accuracy and timely reminders.


  • Deposition Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, and other events related to the litigation process, while managing logistical details.


  • Subpoena Management: Assist in the preparation and tracking of subpoenas, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and timely delivery.


  • General Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance such as answering phones, managing correspondence, organizing files, and maintaining office supplies.



Qualifications:



  • Eminent Domain Experience: Current and relevant experience in eminent domain litigation, either plaintiff or defense, is essential.


  • Legal Background: Prior experience in a legal setting, preferably as a litigation secretary, providing support in a fast-paced environment.


  • Document Management: Proficiency in drafting Table of Authorities (TOA) and Table of Contents (TOC), as well as preparing legal document shells.


  • Filings: Demonstrated experience with state and federal court filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.


  • Calendar Management: Proven ability to manage attorney calendars, scheduling appointments and court appearances effectively.


  • Calendaring Software: Familiarity with calendaring software to input and track deadlines, appointments, and events.


  • Depositions and Subpoenas: Experience in scheduling depositions, mediations, and managing subpoenas.



Location: Costa Mesa, CA



Salary Range: $70K to $85K per year, along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc.



Position Type: Full-time, Onsite, Direct Hire

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 PER YEAR
