Parker and Lynch is seeking a Payroll and Accounts Payable Associate for our not-for-profit Healthcare client in Chicago. This is a great opportunity to join a stable organization with lots of room for growth! The Payroll/AP Associate will support the Finance function by managing payroll processing and performing accounts payable related duties. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable.


Responsibilities:


  • Process payroll functions, including employee expense reimbursement requests and wage assignments


  • Process invoices while providing prompt retention and organization of documentation


  • Provide data verification upon authorized request, as a backup to HR


  • Assist in overall maintenance of payroll system and accounts payable workflows by collecting data for account analyses


  • Research invoice discrepancies in monthly reports and month end closing


  • Assist in new employee training on payroll and accounts payable systems


  • Continued training in payroll systems


  • Keep current knowledge of payroll tax laws and requirements


  • Assist in payroll related financial audits


  • Assist in AP reconciliations and year-end report processing


  • Collaborate with employees to respond to vendor inquiries


  • Qualifications:


  • Associates degree is required


  • Minimum 2+ years of payroll processing experience is required


  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience (preferred)


  • Experience in Paycom (a plus)


  • Experience in Abila MP General Ledger (a plus)
