Job Title: Patient Information Coordinator


Location: Buffalo, New York


Contract


Summary:


Provide administrative support for our hospitalists so the clinicians can maximize their time spent on patient care. A medical background is preferred for this role and all PIC’s are required to work weekends and holidays as needed. The PIC must be motivated and possess a positive outlook, positive team attitude, must enjoy working in a team environment, and has the desire to provide the highest level of customer service.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting several physicians on an administrative level
  • Properly distribute patients between providers
  • Meet with each physician daily
  • Data entry of patient information for billing
  • Distribute final rounding list to clinicians, floors, and nursing stations, etc.
  • Patient Visits – every patient every day
  • Gather needed documentation from chart
  • Assist with PCPs appointments if necessary
  • Gather documents from Medical Record to file (H&P, Discharge Summary, CNN, etc.)
  • Verify insurance
  • Verify documents faxed to PCP
  • Liaison between hospitalists, hospital staff, and Corporate offices
  • Administrative duties as assigned.
  • Scheduling, note taking, meeting set up.

  • Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience as a Medical Assistant, Unit Coordinator, ER Tech, or similar position
  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Familiarity with ICD 10 and CPT codes (preferred)
  • Ability to interact with patients and physicians
  • Capability to bend and lift at least 25lbs
  • Could be prolonged standing or walking up to 50% or more of the work day
  • Organizational skills
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information, including patient data
