LHH is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a contract position with our client in Addison, Texas.
Position Overview: The General Ledger Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical abilities, and a proven track record of maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the organization by supporting various accounting and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting standards.
Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries related to various financial transactions, including accruals, prepayments, and allocations.
Month-end and Year-end Close: Collaborate with the finance team to facilitate smooth month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
Account Reconciliations: Perform regular and ad hoc account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and analyses to support management's decision-making process.
Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and contribute to the enhancement of controls related to general ledger activities.
Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to general ledger accounts.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance general ledger processes, contributing to increased efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial planning, to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
Adherence to Regulations: Stay updated with accounting regulations and standards to ensure the company's financial practices remain compliant.
Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Finance Manager or Controller.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
Proven work experience as a General Ledger Accountant or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
High level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Adaptability to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.
Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week Employment Type: Contract/Temporary Estimated Hourly Rate: $23-36
