LHH is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a contract position with our client in Addison, Texas.


Position Overview: The General Ledger Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical abilities, and a proven track record of maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the organization by supporting various accounting and reporting processes.


Key Responsibilities:



  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting standards.


  • Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries related to various financial transactions, including accruals, prepayments, and allocations.


  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Collaborate with the finance team to facilitate smooth month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.


  • Account Reconciliations: Perform regular and ad hoc account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.


  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and analyses to support management's decision-making process.


  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and contribute to the enhancement of controls related to general ledger activities.


  • Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to general ledger accounts.


  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance general ledger processes, contributing to increased efficiency and accuracy.


  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial planning, to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.


  • Adherence to Regulations: Stay updated with accounting regulations and standards to ensure the company's financial practices remain compliant.


  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Finance Manager or Controller.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.


  • Proven work experience as a General Ledger Accountant or in a similar role.


  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.


  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.


  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Solid understanding of internal controls and audit processes.


  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.


  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.


  • High level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.


  • Adaptability to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.


Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week Employment Type: Contract/Temporary Estimated Hourly Rate: $23-36
