The Manager of Technology - Web will be focused on creating responsive sites with the use of the latest technology stack. The candidate will head various teams of frontend and backend developers to ensure site efficient performance and high SEO value. This position reports the VP of Technology.


Job responsibilities:

  • Work with the content and editorial teams and understand the requirements to create a world-class web application.
  • Gather system requirements, evaluate new feature proposals, and guide system improvements with senior engineers and tech leads from multiple teams.
  • Provide the motivation and tools for the team to make independent decisions for personal and professional success.
  • Create success metrics with other Engineering and Product Managers.
  • Experiment new technologies, administer proof of concept, and present it to tech peers and CTO.
  • Guide each engineer to create and execute personal and professional development plans that map to the organization’s goals.
  • Hire talented and passionate engineers.

  • Job qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of tech experience in high traffic website development and support
  • Experience in modern websites and services development using Next.js and React
  • JavaScript or Typescript development experience
  • Solid experience in API design and development including GraphQL and REST
  • Experience in component library implementation using StoryBook.js
  • Solid understanding of AWS Services, CI/CD, and Docker Containers
  • Database technologies experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB)
  • Expert skills and knowledge in Analytics and Advertising integrations
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, XP, and etc. with focus on app performance, security, and maintainability
  • Experience with leading software developer teams that built consumer grade web apps
  • Hands on architecting and industry leading frameworks and patterns
  • Excellent organizational, communication skills, and can work with product development teams
  • Open to travel (Must have proof of Covid-19 vaccination)
