LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity in Natomas, California. In this role, you will provide critical services maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations while supporting various financial activities. You will collaborate closely with other members of the finance team and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.


  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.


  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements and reports.


  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.


  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.


  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.


  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial analyses and reports as required.


  • Assist in the preparation for external audits and collaborate with auditors as needed.


  • Maintain a thorough understanding of accounting regulations and compliance standards.


  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.


  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.


DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


  • CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.


  • 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.


  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.


  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).


  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.


  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.


  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.


  • Experience with SAP, Sage, NetSuite, and Excel highly desired

Pay Details: $28.00 to $32.00 PER HOUR
