Ajilon has an immediate need for a Logistics/Warehouse Manager for one of our clients located in the Milwaukee area. The Logistics Manager leads internal and third-party warehouse management, freight management, logistics projects, and process improvements. This role is critical to the organization’s success in meeting customers’ needs by ensuring Supply Chain can execute while managing costs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


-Provide leadership and support to Warehouse and Freight Managers to ensures we properly plan and execute shipments, and that carriers deliver in a timely manner.


-Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, or shipping and purchasing to minimize transportation expense and ensuring required service metrics are met.


-Responsible for storage and efficient handling, timely distribution to manufacturing and shipping areas to ensure efficient production operations in support of on time customer shipments.


-Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports and exports or customer issues. Manage freight claims through resolution.


-Develop and negotiate all carrier and forwarder programs for domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments via all modes of transportation (air, ocean, rail, parcel, courier, LTL, TL).


-Manage the measurement of on-time performance to stated lead-times, quality (lost or damaged), and cost (stated cost and freight bill accuracy) for all carrier/forwarders


-Organize day-to-day operations and assign work to the Warehouse team to best utilize labor, timeliness, efficient performance, and reduce errors.


-Facilitate the Cycle Count Program by ensuring occurrence, monitoring performance, and providing monthly results to appropriate management.


-Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and operation of all owned and leased equipment including tractor, trailers, forklifts, and battery charging stations


-Creates, trains, implements, maintains and continuously improves business processes associated with Warehousing and Logistics


-Responsible for Warehouse organization based on volume and velocity to maximize efficiency. Evaluate material flow, storage usage, and freight utilization to optimize distribution and logistics activities


-Coach and mentor subordinates, supervisors, and other key personnel to perform at the highest level.


-Supervise all phases of warehouse inventory including storage, staging, labeling, and shipping details. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and other metrics.


-Maintain inventory levels through coordinating product shipments between warehouse locations.


-Reports and maintains departmental activity KPI’s


-Provides input and recommendations for improvement in warehousing, freight, and/or distribution efficiency and cost


-Responsible for being aware of and following all food safety protocols as required by the company’s food safety management system, as they relate to this position.

Education and/or Experience


Required:


-High School Diploma or equivalent


-2 years Management


-2 years Freight Environment


-Food safety training and experience working with food products


-Demonstrated Motivator & High Energy


-Excellent communication skills


-Basic computer skill proficiency (MSTeams, MSOffice, esp. excel, MSNav ERP, Outlook)


-Forklift Certification


Preferred:


-Bachelor’s Degree


-5+ years of relevant experience


-Experience working in a certified organic and/or certified food safe facility


Language Skills


-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


-Ability to effectively communicate details, concepts, analysis results, and substantiation via verbal or written mediums.


-Ability to speak effectively and present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills


-Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


-Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and apply concepts to practical situations.


-Ability to read and interpret figures, graphs, and plots.


-Ability to manage, organizes, analyze and decipher large amounts of data.


Reasoning Ability


-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.


-Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.


-Ability to solve problems via a logical, analytic approach.


Computer Skills


-To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate PC skills and proficiency with CRM tools, internet software, LinkedIn and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.


-Must have the ability to operate general office equipment including copier and fax machine.


Other Skills and Abilities


-Ability to multi-task. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


-Strong time management and organizational skills.


-Ability to work under dynamic schedule constraints and consistently meet deliverable timelines.


Physical Demands


-While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear.


-The employee is frequently required use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach above shoulders. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.


-The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


-Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
