LHH is partnering with a Company in Suffolk County for a direct hire Accounts Payable Specialist. This is 100% on site and may lead to a hybrid role. Ideal Candidate must be able to multitask and to work independently and as part of a team. Salary $70K. The Corporate Headquarters at Melville, NY is establishing a shared service center of excellence for the accounts payable function. This position will be responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate integration of the accounts payable function and processes from the individual business units to Corporate.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  1. Responsible for the full and complete cycle of accounts payable for multiple divisions


  2. Compile, sort, date and code invoices and packing slips substantiating business transactions


  3. Perform the three-way match


  4. Research and resolve A/P issues and/or problems as they arise, working with the vendor and/or appropriate internal personnel at the various divisions


  5. Accurately review, code and process vendor invoices, sending invoices out to appropriate individuals for approval where required


  6. Ensure timely, efficient and accurate payment of vendor invoices in accordance with department procedures and within terms.


  7. Initiate month-end accruals where required


  8. Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis


  9. Produce and file 1099’s annually


Job Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor’s or Associates degree in accounting or equivalent experience.


  2. 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience


  3. Has sufficient experience on working with high-volume transactions, numerous customers and multiple companies/databases.


  4. Experience working with Microsoft Office (especially with Excel) and with ERP systems. Experience with Expandable a plus


  5. Working in a shared service model preferred


Salary $70K-$75K
