Medical Collections Specialist

LHH is seeking a Medical Collections Specialist for a contract to hire position in the Knoxville, TN area. The ideal candidate will have traditional collections experience and be available immediately. This is a full-time position and requires you to come into the office full-time.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze patient accounts to identify outstanding balances and delinquent accounts
  • Contact insurance companies, patients, and other stakeholders to follow up on unpaid claims and secure payment
  • Negotiate and set up payment arrangements and plans for patients
  • Resolve billing disputes and discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments, insurance providers, and patients
  • Maintain accurate and updated patient billing and collection records in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Utilize electronic billing and collection systems effectively
  • Stay up-to-date with insurance regulations, coding requirements, and industry changes
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address patient inquiries related to billing and collections
    • Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in medical collections or related field
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical billing and collection systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy protection

    • Hourly Pay: $15/hr - $17/hr


    Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan. Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.

    Pay Details: $15.00 to $17.00 PER HOUR
