Job Summary:
LHH has partnered with a healthcare organization seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join their team in Knoxville, TN. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate billing of medical services, insurance claim processing, and revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Processing: Accurately and efficiently process medical claims for a variety of services and specialties.
Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and eligibility, ensuring accurate billing.
Billing Compliance: Stay up-to-date with healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards, ensuring adherence.
Denial Management: Identify and resolve claim denials, preparing and submitting appeals when necessary.
Payment Posting: Post payments received from insurance companies and patients, reconciling accounts.
Follow-up: Follow up on outstanding claims and unpaid accounts, taking appropriate action to secure payments.
Patient Inquiries: Assist patients with billing inquiries, providing excellent customer service and resolution.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and organized records of billing activities and communications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in medical billing and claims processing.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and insurance reimbursement processes.
- Familiarity with various insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
