Accounting Principals is seeking an experienced Medical Billing and Collections Specialist, for a contract-to-hire position, in Richmond, Virginia. This position requires at lest two years of billing and medical collections experience. You should possess outstanding communication and negotiation skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of laws and policies related to debt collection


Job Description


The role requires someone with the ability to balance between maintaining trustful relationships with insurance companies and individual clients while guaranteeing timely payments.


Duties Include

  • Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts.
  • Work with Insurance companies/MCOs on collection of delinquent activity.
  • Research all claim denials on a weekly basis.
  • Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer/professional relations.
  • Resolves client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.
  • Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.
  • Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.

    • Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of Medical/Medicaid/Medicare/Private Insurance collections experience
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.

    • Contract Pay Range: $17 to $19 an hour depending on experience


    Permanent Pay Range: $19 to $21 an hour depending on experience


    Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.


    Schedule: 40 hours/week
