LHH is seeking an Interim Director of Accounting for a contract position with our client in Duncanville, Texas.


Position Overview: As the Interim Director of Accounting, you will play a critical role in overseeing the accounting department, managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This is a temporary position with an estimated duration of 12-14 months.


Responsibilities:



  • Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership to the accounting team, including supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.


  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to support decision-making at both operational and executive levels.


  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions, account reconciliations, and adjustments.


  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with other departments to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions as necessary.


  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure accuracy of financial data, and comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.


  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage the audit process, including interactions with external auditors. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant financial standards.


  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department. Streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices.


  • Financial Analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.


  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage cash disbursements, and optimize working capital to support the organization's financial stability and growth.


  • Ad Hoc Projects: Lead and participate in special projects as assigned by executive leadership, providing financial expertise and guidance.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.


  • Proven experience (10+ years) in progressively responsible roles in accounting and financial management, with a demonstrated track record of success.


  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.


  • Experience managing and leading accounting teams.


  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, etc.).


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.


  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.


  • Prior experience in interim or transitional roles is a plus.


Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week Employment Type: Contract/Temporary Estimated Hourly Rate: $56-60
