Accounting Principals is partnered with an excellent client of ours in private equity who seeking a temporary Finance Associate. This is flexible and remote role that will involve assisting in various projects and accounting tasks.


Type: Contract


Length: Long-Term, indefinite


Location: 100% remote, MUST LIVE IN ILLINOIS


Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of alternative investments, including recording incoming/outgoing cash, general journal entries, and flow of funds entries for capital calls
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and workpapers for private equity fund entities
  • Maintain general ledgers for numerous holding companies and investment partnerships, including input of all cash activity
  • Maintain/analyze/reconcile general ledger accounts for 4 operating companies and assist with quarterly close
  • Record American Express entries
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts
  • Complete quarterly close, including the tie out of prepaids and Airpass, balance sheet reconciliations, and expense analytics
  • Prepare accounts payable entries and file support on a biweekly basis
  • Make employee expense reimbursement entries as needed
  • Assist with the preparation for year-end financial statement audits including pulling bank statements and other requested items for auditors
  • Prepare year-end tax workpapers for outside tax preparers
  • Assist with various Family Office accounting tasks
  • Prepare quarterly capital calls and distributions for funds
  • Prepare quarterly management fee and expense billings for portfolio companies
  • Update and distribute weekly cash report to the team
  • Assist team with special projects
  • Budgeting and cash management for Family Office on an ad hoc basis (cash report)
  • Prepare quarterly Family Consolidation report
  • Charitable contribution payment and commitment tracking (outside the foundation)
  • Complete subscription agreements for new investments

  • Qualifications Required:

  • Degree – Bachelor's in Accounting or related field
  • Industry Experience – Minimum of 3-5 years
  • Software – MS Office, Excel, QuickBooks
