LHH is seeking a Nephrology Coding Supervisor for our client in Chandler, AZ! This contract to Hire offers remote work. The Coding Supervisor will be responsible for Doing monthly physician audits, working in the claim edit work queues in Epic, 125 providers, not super high volume, has to be organized and responsive, NPS mailbox, providers, coders, billers and external send emails with coding inquiries, must be updated with CMS guidelines, etc.



Overview:


We are seeking a meticulous and organized Coding and Compliance Specialist to join our team. This critical role involves conducting physician audits, ensuring accurate coding and billing practices, and maintaining compliance with government guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be a subject matter expert (SME) in coding, and have a deep understanding of Nephrology practices. Qualifications:



  • Coding certification (CPC) is required.


  • Risk management certification preferred.


  • Epic educator certification is a plus.


  • Compliance auditor certification is desirable.


  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.


  • Previous experience in Nephrology coding is highly beneficial.


  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.



Responsibilities:



Physician Audits and Education:



  • Conduct monthly physician audits to ensure accurate coding and documentation.


  • Work in claim edit work queues in Epic for efficient coding processes.


  • Educate providers, practice staff, and RCM teammates on coding queries and documentation issues.


  • Provide guidance in alignment with clinical documentation requirements and government-mandated guidelines.



Communication and Reporting:



  • Manage the NPS mailbox, addressing coding inquiries from providers, coders, billers, and external stakeholders.


  • Stay updated with CMS guidelines and disseminate relevant information to the team.


  • Prioritize timely report creation to track coding accuracy and compliance.



Policy Development and Training:



  • Develop and update policies to align with state and federal regulations.


  • Mentor, train, and support the Coding Team and RCM Specialists.


  • Conduct baseline, monthly, and quarterly coding reviews, emphasizing good documentation practices and accurate coding.



Billing and Compliance:



  • Ensure appropriate and accurate billing of physician and non-physician provider services, following Medicare guidelines and federal rules.


  • Collaborate with the Billing team to reduce coding-related denials impacting reimbursement.


  • Perform on-site medical record audits to maintain compliance with regulations and best practices.



Knowledge and Data Analysis:



  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting medical records management.


  • Research coding and billing issues and analyze data for reports.


  • Monitor productivity and accuracy metrics for the Coding Team and provide coaching as needed.



Team Collaboration:



  • Attend and facilitate team meetings, phone conferences, and training sessions as required.



Supervision and Leadership:



  • Have full supervisory responsibility and contribute to decisions regarding recruitment, training, professional development, performance management, and retention of direct reports.



Qualifications:



  • Coding certification (CPC) is required.


  • Risk management certification preferred.


  • Epic educator certification is a plus.


  • Compliance auditor certification is desirable.


  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.


  • Previous experience in Nephrology coding is highly beneficial.


  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
