LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking to fill a Grant Accountant role at a reputable nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn, NY. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability and compliance of our organization's grant-funded projects. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of grants, from initial budget creation to final reporting. Your meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of accounting principles will be essential to accurately track, report, and manage grant funds. This is a contract to hire role that will operate on a hybrid schedule. Pay Range: $37-$42/hour Depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Grant Budgeting and Proposal Support:
  • Collaborate with program managers and grant writers to develop accurate and realistic grant budgets.
  • Provide financial insights during the grant proposal development process, ensuring that budgets align with program objectives.
Grant Funds Management:
  • Monitor grant funds, ensuring that expenditures are in line with approved budgets and compliance requirements.
  • Review and process expense reports, invoices, and other financial documents related to grant-funded activities.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and grantors, detailing the utilization of grant funds and program outcomes.
  • Generate financial reports that reflect budget-to-actual comparisons, highlighting any variances and their potential impact.
Compliance and Audit:
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements and funding regulations by staying up-to-date with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Assist in preparing for financial audits related to grant-funded projects, providing necessary documentation and support.
Internal Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the finance team to integrate grant-related financial information into the organization's overall financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other relevant staff to ensure accurate and consistent grant financial management.
Grant Closeout:
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate closure of grants, including the preparation of final financial reports and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in nonprofit grant accounting, fund accounting, or financial management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools; experience with nonprofit accounting software is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines simultaneously.
Pay Details: $37.00 to $42.00 PER HOUR
