LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Component Engineer for a is a leading aerospace manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality components for the aviation and aerospace industry. The client is committed to innovation, precision, and excellence in every aspect of their operations. Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Component Engineer to join their team their Akron, OH area facility.


The Component Engineer will play a crucial role in the develop, implement and continuously improve the standards, policies and procedures for all work performed related to managing electronic part/material obsolescence. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance are met, while adhering to industry regulations and best practices.


Client is offering: Relocation package, Salary range is between 90-120K based on experience, bonus up to 5%, Hybrid Work Schedule, Benefits, 15 days of PTO prorated, Medical, Dental & Vision, HSA, FSA, ST & LT, 12 paid Holidays, EAP. Parental Leave, 401K



Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop aerospace components that meet technical specifications, performance requirements, and industry standards.


  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to support the selection of materials, processes, and manufacturing techniques for aerospace components.


  • Manage all aspects of part and material obsolescence and the Obsolescence Management Policy defined by the organization.


  • Utilize SiliconExpert , Government - Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), other Internet search tools.


  • Act as single point of contact for all communication with electronic components manufacturer.


  • Establish KPIs and track progress.


  • Develop, implement and continuously improve the standards, policies and procedures for all work performed related to managing electronic part/material obsolescence.


  • Perform simulation and testing of components to validate design concepts and optimize performance, making necessary adjustments as needed.


  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, test plans, and reports, to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of the component development process.


  • Work closely with suppliers to procure materials and components, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.


  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during production, troubleshooting any design-related issues that may arise and collaborating on continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and regulations to ensure the company remains at the forefront of aerospace component engineering.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.


  • 5+ years of experience in component engineering, preferably within the aerospace or aviation industry.


  • Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.


  • SiliconExpert and GIDEP knowledge.


  • Willingness to occasionally travel for supplier visits and project meetings.
