Legal Counsel - R&D Coventry, West Midlands

My client, a leading automotive business has an exciting opportunity within their legal team for a Legal Counsel to join them as an expert in the area of research. This company is at the forefront of automotive innovation and takes pride in their dedication to research and development by partnering with leading companies and academic institutions to drive business forward.

You will play a key part in building strong relationships with research partners, drafting and negotiating R&D contracts and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities include;

*Negotiating R&D project contracts with research partners in the UK and internationally.

*Drafting and negotiating grant funding agreements, collaboration and consortium agreements.

*Providing advice on competition law.

*Providing legal advice and training to the Research team and wider business.

You will be a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 PQE* and have demonstrable commercial experience, especially in the area of research and development. You will be a strong team player as well as have the autonomy to handle a large and varied workload. In return you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits package.
