Today’s HR professionals are not only tasked with improving operational performance—by shortening hiring times, improving retention rates, decreasing burnout, and boosting morale—but also contributing to business transformation for which they must learn new technical skills.

 

In our 2022 Workforce Trends: Human Resources report, we took a close look at the data gathered from our latest Compensation & Workforce Trends Survey—specifically at the strategies human resources hiring managers are employing to attract and retain the HR talent they need. Here are just a few of our key findings:

 

  • #1 desired skillset for human resources workers is tech expertise
  • 66% of HR hiring managers plan to back-fill roles that were eliminated during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • 88% say they are confident in their organization's ability to attract new talent and retain current talent
  • 64% plan to upskill current employees to close the skills gap
  • 48% say they plan to reskill current employees to be redeployed
  • 54% have shortened the interview and offer process to meet the current demand and competition for skilled workers
