Partner, Executive Interim Management

Brian Alpern is a Partner in the Executive Interim Management Practice with LHH Knightsbridge in Toronto.

 

Brian’s expertise is recruiting senior leaders for short-term assignments.  Highly skilled at assessing talent, Brian places executives within 5-10 days to help companies address skills gaps, capacity concerns or other strategic interests, often ones that involve major change initiatives. 

 

Over his career, Brian has been recognized for his strong consultative style and ability to provide out of the box strategic insight in helping his clients improve their business.  A direct, thoughtful communicator with a vast network, Brian prides himself on being able to attract exceptional talent to his clients.

 

Prior to his time in executive search, Brian was a Senior Consultant in LHH Knightsbridge’s career transition business, helping individuals and groups during career transitions by providing coaching and facilitating workshops on self-assessment, self-marketing, researching, interviewing, networking and resume-writing.


Melanie Barbieri

Senior Consultant

Melanie Barbieri is a Senior Consultant at Amrop Knightsbridge in Toronto.

Before landing in Executive Search, Melanie worked at TD Securities in the HR Department.

Melanie is a generalist in the field working on a variety of senior level searches across all major industries including energy & utilities, technology, consumer products, financial services and retail.  She also works across many functional areas including but not limited to sales and marketing, finance, information technology, operations and general management. 





Stephen Bell

Managing Partner, Executive Interim Management

Stephen Bell is the Managing Partner in the Executive Interim Management Practice with LHH Knightsbridge in Toronto.

Steve has a wealth of experience spanning a 20 year career in recruitment working in Europe and North America. He honed his skills at a top tier contingency recruitment company in the UK before opening his own boutique search firm in the late 1990’s. He then worked with Michael Page leading a division of their Public and Not for Profit business which included starting their healthcare interim practice. Steve moved to Canada with Michael Page and was headhunted to run the Canadian entities of Spherion which included a boutique search firm and he launched a technology recruitment brand.  These were acquired by Randstad Canada where Steve was asked to lead their Executive Search practice before joining Wal-Mart Canada where he ran their Canadian talent acquisition teams.

Katherina Cameron

Executive Asisstant

Katherina is an Executive Assistant in the Search Practice with seven years of experience. She supports Partners in the  Technology, Pharma, CPG and General Management sectors. She also supports the LHH Knightsbridge Canadian Business Hall of Fame team in this corporate initiative.

 

Prior to joining Amrop Knightsbridge, Katherina enjoyed tremendous success as a faculty member of a leading private vocational school.  As a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Wellness professional, she has deep experience and expertise in complementary medicine with a focus on leading-edge research in nutritional epigenetics and gender based effects.

Katherina is enrolled in the B.Sc., Healthcare degree programme at Queen’s University and has also completed advanced courses in Law, Political Science, Nutrition and Biochemistry at the University of Toronto and Athabasca University.

At LHH Knightsbridge, Katherina served as the co-Chair of the Health and Safety Committee. She is Birkman certified.


Tara Lee Chou

Manager, Operations, Recruitment Solutions

Tara Lee is the Manager, Operations for the Recruitment Solutions team at LHH Knightsbridge in Toronto. She has an extensive background in administrative and operational roles that showcase her professionalism and passion for providing exemplary customer service.

Tara Lee is detail-oriented and personable,  and a trusted asset in working towards the success of her team and our clients.  She is adept at managing multiple stakeholders in an organization efficiently with ease.

 

Tara Lee attended OCAD University and holds a Bachelor of Design.

Jason Coelho

Research Consultant

Jason Coelho is a Search Consultant in the Executive Interim Management Practice with LHH Knightsbridge in Toronto.


LHH Knightsbridge's Executive Interim Management is the largest Interim search practice in Canada, placing qualified executives in highly strategic Interim engagements. 

As a Consultant, Jason works directly with the Executive Interim Management Partners to manage the recruitment process, conduct a thorough market scan and execute on all recruitment delivery activities

Marc Deschatelets

Partner

Marc Deschatelets has over thirty years of senior management and executive recruitment experience. Early on in his career, he has applied his leadership in several senior management positions with large firms. As Vice President of major Canadian communications companies (Bell Canada, Bell Canada International, Telesystem, Cogeco Cable), he guided various business unit to above-average growth by developing high-performance multidisciplinary teams. 


Since 2004, Marc has dedicated his career in executive search. Over the years, he recruited hundreds of managers and senior executives for a variety of positions for private companies as well as for the public sectors. He has shown flair in fulfilling various mandates to recruit and select high-level leaders in a range of industries, such as Government agencies, Education, arts media and culture, retail and distribution fields, transportation, consumer goods, communications and technology. Marc also built the executive search practice of one of Canada’s largest Human Capital management consulting firm


Bruce Diemert

Partner

Bruce Diemert is a Partner with Amrop Knightsbridge.  Bruce has been in the talent management and management consulting industries since 1998.

He focuses his business expertise on the industries that drive the economy in Western Canada, specifically, all resource based industries, professional services, manufacturing, and information technology companies.

For the past 9 years Bruce has managed his own firm, PAUL ALEXANDER, Talent Management Consultants Inc.   With offices in Vancouver and Calgary, PAUL ALEXANDER focused on delivering executive and mid management search and, talent management consulting projects.

Bruce graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in from the University of Calgary and an MBA from Dalhousie University through the Canadian Bankers Association.

Bruce is active in local community, municipal and, provincial charities highlighted by his time with the VGH/UBC Hospital Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital Foundations and the Salvation Army’s Vancouver Harbour Light facility located in Vancouver’s East side of downtown.

Bruce is an avid outdoor enthusiast.  Racing outrigger and dragon boat canoes both locally and internationally, skiing and boarding with his three daughters in their native North Shore mountains or in Whistler BC and, hiking in their local mountains with his wife Elayna and their chocolate lab Goose.

 


Matthew Dyck

Matt Dyck is a Recruitment Consultant with the LHH Knightsbridge Recruitment Solutions Team in Toronto.

 

Matt has spent several years as an in-house recruitment specialist for a variety of industries including Healthcare, Manufacturing, Marketing and the Arts.  He has successfully added value to the recruitment process by placing many candidates into their “perfect fit” roles.  Matt has directly lead the sourcing, interviewing and on-boarding processes for all types of clients with a variety complex and unique roles.


Blair Ferris

Partner

Blair brings over 12 years of experience in strategic talent acquisition to LHH Knightsbridge clients.  He has an extensive background in executive and senior technical/business leadership searches across global financial services and global natural resources, engineering and associated heavy industries.
 
With a career in both agency and in-house corporate environments, Blair has a unique perspective and understanding of the search, assessment and selection process.

Glenda Goodman

Manager, Operations

Glenda Goodman is Manager, Operations - Recruitment Practices with Amrop Knightsbridge and has been in the executive search business since 1996. She is a dedicated customer-focused Manager with extensive experience in delivering high calibre services within a fast-paced and highly confidential professional services environment.


Glenda has overseen all aspects of the management,  administration and operations of the three Recruitment Practices.  This has included everything from managing the daily operations of the Practices, staff management, research, client relations, producing annual budgets and regular financial reporting,  and the management of a variety of special projects.

Tim Hewat

Partner

Tim focuses on building the Technology Practice (technology, media & software) in Canada, as well as working with clients in other major market segments.

Tim's consulting approach starts with gaining an understanding of his clients' growth strategies. This business approach, underpinned by a solid search methodology, has resulted in a group of highly satisfied clients. He continues to be personally involved in every search, ensuring a tight focus on selecting the right candidate.

Since 2012 Tim has managed the annual nomination and selection process for the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.  In this capacity, he is actively involved in identifying noteworthy business leaders that would be considered compelling to both the Canadian business community and to aspiring Junior Achievement students.

Tim earned his MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He also holds an Economics degree from Queen's University.

Stephen Hime

Stephen has nearly 20 years of experience providing senior level search and recruitment services to client organizations in various industries throughout Canada.  His experience has touched many industries in engineering, manufacturing, consulting and information technology.  Stephen’s consultative and relationship oriented approach is key to understanding each client’s unique needs for talent acquisition.  He has an extensive background in senior leadership, management and technical roles across many business functions.  In addition to his extensive experience in professional search and recruitment, Stephen has led key Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) initiatives. 

Robert Hosking

A highly experienced, strategic recruitment leader and sales executive, Robert Hosking is Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Search Practice at Lee Hecht Harrison Knightsbridge.  A member of the senior leadership team, Robert leads the growth of the three search practices: Executive Search, Executive Interim Management and Recruitment Solutions, with focus on setting the strategy direction, optimally organizing and aligning resources and developing approaches that will enable the teams to fully leverage the entire LHH Knightsbridge suite of solutions.


With an impressive record of success in developing winning growth strategies and building effective teams, Robert joined LHH Knightsbridge from Randstad USA where, as SVP Randstad General Staffing, he led the development and delivery of the Non Clinical Healthcare strategy for the US through the creation of three distinct delivery models.

Lisa Knight

Managing Partner, Executive Search

As Managing Partner, Lisa is responsible for providing strategic leadership to a team of 24 professionals with Amrop Knightsbridge Executive Search and LHH Knightsbridge Interim Management, across offices in Toronto and Montreal.  With 30 years' experience in Executive Search, Lisa helps clients in a range of industries, to advance their businesses and achieve their objectives through the acquisition of top talent at both executive and board levels. 

Prior to joining Amrop Knightsbridge in 2004, Lisa was a Partner and Director of Resourcing and Development at Highland Partners Executive Search (previously TMP Worldwide) where she developed best practices for search execution and re-aligned, trained and lead a team of 60 researchers and associates across North America. 

 
In addition, Lisa was also deeply involved in many of the firm’s strategic corporate/business development efforts and search mandates.  

Earlier in her career, Lisa progressed through the ranks to become Partner in charge of Research at Illsley Bourbonnais, Ward Howell, a pioneer firm in the Canadian Executive Search Industry.  

Lisa has an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.  She is married with 3 children and resides in Toronto, Canada.

Steve Koddermann is a Partner in the Executive Interim Management practice with Lee Hecht Harrison Knightsbridge in Toronto.

Steve has a wealth of experience spanning a nearly 20 year career in recruitment. He crafted his skills at a leading global contingency recruitment company specializing in finance and IT, before operating his own boutique search firm. Prior to that Steve worked as an SAP consultant at AT&T, as well as held various positions ranging from Manager, Financial Reporting to Controller at a number of organizations in the real estate space.  

Over his career, Steve has demonstrated an ability to partner with his clients to understand the unique challenges facing their business and provide innovative recruitment solutions, while ensuring a strong cultural fit. He prides himself on being able to attract exceptional talent for his clients by drawing upon his extensive network. All the while operating with the utmost integrity and ‘doing the right thing’.

Prior to joining Amrop Knightsbridge, Tom has worked in retail management, consulting, and academia. He is a published author, having written case studies and articles in business.



Laura Machan

Laura is a Partner in LHH Knightsbridge’s Recruitment Solutions Practice. She has more than 15 years of progressive Human Resource Management and Recruiting experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction and power generation. Laura focuses on building the engineering practice as well as working with clients in other major market segments.

 

Laura’s practice has been built on her ability to ask the kind of questions that get to the heart of the search and the specific skills and attitudes that will be required to be successful in a role.

 

She is a hands-on recruiter who prides herself on being able to turn the web inside out to find the right candidates.

Jon Nagamatsu

Jon Nagamatsu is a Partner with the LHH Knightsbridge Recruitment Solutions Team in Toronto

 

Jon brings more than 15 years in the search industry with international and local organizations focusing primarily on financial, operational and human resources roles across a variety of industry sectors including, professional services, real estate, financial services, CPG/retail, mining and technology.  Jon enjoys both client development / management as well as search execution aspects.

 

Prior to his time in search, Jon worked in public accounting with a big 4 accounting firm including a secondment to Australia as well as leading recruitment and training aspects.

Jon holds the CPA, CA designation along with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree focused in Co-op Accountancy from the University of Waterloo.  Jon is also a member of the Finance & Audit Committee for Parkinson Canada where he has volunteered since 2006 and volunteers his time to various CPA events including DECA at the High School and University levels.

Prior to joining Amrop Knightsbridge, Ed was Director of Research and Client Services with the Toronto office of a leading international executive search firm.

Madiha Rashid

Madiha Rashid is a Consultant for Amrop Knightsbridge Executive Search and has over 7 years of executive search experience. She has developed a solid track record in successfully searching and placing senior-level executives in a variety of industries including consumer products, financial services, retail, technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing/industrial and energy. Madiha is well versed in a broad spectrum of functional areas including human resources, finance, sales and marketing, technology, data analytics, manufacturing/operations and general management.

Prior to joining Amrop Knightsbridge, Madiha was associated with a privately-held global executive search firm where she gained extensive experience on senior-level positions in North America, APAC, Europe and the MENA region. Madiha’s exposure to different cultures while residing in multiple countries has helped her inculcate a global mindset.

Madiha has a M.Sc. degree in Human Resources Management from Birkbeck, University of London, UK and holds a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Psychology from Sunway University, Malaysia. She is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association in Canada.

Jill Renton is a Consultant with the LHH Knightsbridge Recruitment Solutions Team in Toronto.

Jill began her career in search upon graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Philosophy. Prior to joining LHH Knightsbridge, she gained valuable experience at a business and financial advisory firm on the Executive Search team with a focus on Finance/Accounting, and Human Resources. Now at LHH Knightsbridge, she works closely with all Partners on the Recruitment Solutions team in meeting the specialized functional requirements of our clients.

Jill’s involvement in the search process entails deep industry mapping and sourcing using several strategies to identify the best, most hidden talent, and is integral in the first point of contact with candidates. Her approach to matching the right candidates with the right opportunity emphasizes both the technical and human elements of recruitment.

Chris Sawyer is a Partner with Amrop Knightsbridge who specializes in the Not-for-profit, Public Sector and Healthcare industries. Prior to joining Amrop Knightsbridge, Chris was at Highland Partners, a global executive search firm and successor to TMP Worldwide Executive Search. She began her career at a boutique search firm in London, Ontario, and was also a member of the executive search practice of KPMG.

 

Throughout her 20-year career in executive search, Chris has developed a very thorough and meticulous approach to search management.  She has conducted numerous search mandates across a spectrum of healthcare and not-for-profit organizations



James Smith

Partner

James brings an extensive business background to LHH Knightsbridge as a Partner in Executive Search, having spent the past 20 years as a President and CEO in a number of consumer focused businesses in both Canada and the U.S. His experience includes leadership roles in companies ranging from owner/operated to $1 billion in revenue.

At LHH Knightsbridge, James specializes in Personal Care, CPG, Pharma, Cosmetics and companies in their industry ecosystems. James’ approach is to fully engage in a client’s business – taking into account trends, strategies and business/leadership nuances that will lead to significant growth and long-term success.  He is passionate about matching the right fit, culture and personality for both client and candidate.

Lizz Surajdeen

Executive Asisstant

Lizz Surajdeen has been an Executive Assistant for over 23 years and in Administration for 26+ years.  She has worked in Information Technology, Advertising, Healthcare and Real Estate industries prior to joining LHH Knightsbridge.

She is currently one of three Executive Assistants for the Amrop Knightsbridge Practice and has been in the executive search business since 2011.


Lizz is the Executive Assistant to Robert Hosking, Senior Vice President, Managing Director – Search Practices and Lisa Knight, Partner and has also worked concurrently with the Recruitment Solutions – 3 years and Interim Management Services – 4.5 years.


Aside from her day to day activities on her team Lizz is the other half of Lee Hecht Harrison Knightsbridge Social Committee and keeps our company very active with multiple events throughout the year.

In her spare time Lizz designs jewelry – Lizz Dahlin and does event planning – Lady Young Events.  Traveling home to Trinidad and around the world as well as cruising is a huge part of her life.



Kevin Tennant

Partner

Kevin Tennant is a Partner in the Executive Interim Management practice with LHH Knightsbridge in Toronto.  He serves LHH Knightsbridge’s Financial Services clients.

Kevin has a wealth of experience spanning a 30-year career in recruitment in the Canadian Marketplace.  He transitioned to a career in recruiting after cutting his teeth as an IT technology professional.  He was groomed by a pair of agency owners who were intent on professionalizing the nascent recruiting business into a professional services firm.  Kevin quickly established himself as a top Account Manager and built an impressive client base which included MicroSoft, IBM and CIBC. 


Having accomplished a lot in IT staffing, Kevin was attracted to the cloud software field (before it was known as cloud) and worked with Taleo, Workopolis and HireDesk (now Talemetry) to help organizations make use of the Internet to extend their reach into the talent marketplace and streamline their processes. 


Upon joining Hays in 2005, Kevin transitioned to working as a Senior Accounting and Finance Recruiter and helped grow the Hays brand in the GTA marketplace.  Having demonstrated an interest in working on senior retained searches, Kevin narrowed his focus to the Financial Services sector and extended his working to Technology, Risk, Compliance and Investment Banking functions.  This has led to his current role serving the Financial Services sector at LHH Knightsbridge.


Being a big believer in continuous learning, Kevin completed his MBA in 2018.  His dissertation delved into how organizations can make their voluntary turnover reduction and employee retention efforts more “generation friendly”, accounting for some of the differences in expectations and motivations displayed by people who identify with Boomer, Gen-X and Millennial cohorts.  This research has created a platform where Kevin is able to help Executives understand the role of trust in voluntary turnover and retention and how they can build and maintain trust.

Erica Tsui

Erica Tsui is a Consultant with the LHH Knightsbridge Recruitment Solutions Team in Toronto.

Erica has built her career undertaking a variety of roles in a number of industries. She has provided search execution services to clients across multiple industries and functional roles including financial services, technology, human resources, engineering, manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, not-for-profit and government sectors.

A multi-lingual relationship builder with national and international experience, Erica values every conversation with her clients and candidates as she strongly believes relationships are the key to finding success and effectively fulfilling the requirements of search mandates.
